Thousands of students rebel against the government of Iran, as Trump’s troops exhaust their ultimatum

The young people supporters of the Islamic Republic they have shouted “Death to America” ​​and “Death to Israel”blaming them for the deaths of thousands of people in what they called an American-Israeli plot in reference to the anti-government protests in January.

Those revolts were extinguished after a violent state repression which, according to the official balance, caused 3,117 deaths, while opposition organizations such as HRANA, based in the US, raise the figure to 7,015.

During the student demonstrations this Sunday, these young people have also taken the opportunity to burn US and Israeli flags and chanted slogans against the Pahlavi monarchy, overthrown with the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

Instead, hundreds of students from Tehran, Sharif, Baheshti and Amir Kabir universities have shouted slogans against the Islamic Republic and they have positioned themselves in favor of the monarchy. Among them, “Long live the Shah” and “This is the last battle, Pahlaví will return,” according to images published by the student portal Amir Kabir.

Clashes between both sides

Numerous media outlets in the country have reported clashes between both sides.

These student protests resumed last Saturday on the first day of the academic semester in several universities in Tehran and at Ferdosi University in Mashad to pay tribute to the victims of the January protests, with cries of “We swear by the blood of our comrades, we will resist to the end”.
