The “alt-right” has always harshly criticized interventions in the Middle East, especially in Afghanistan and Iraq. They want nothing to do with sending more Americans to die thousands of miles from their homeland.

A substitute for the UN

It also remains to be seen what position Russia adopts in the event that its ally is attacked.
